Welcome to SASNA
The South Australian School Nurses Association (SASNA) is a group of health professionals who are employed in the private and public education sector in South Australia. We represent Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, First Aiders and Health Professionals who provide health and nursing care to a school community within the Independent, public and Catholic Education systems, including boarding and non-boarding schools.

Mission Statement
To unite and provide school health professionals in South Australia with a forum to offer continued professional support, networking and relevant professional development opportunities. It is our aim to work together to assist school health pofessionals to further develop their specialised knowledge base and skill set in order to promote the delivery of best practice and provide a high standard of health care to all clients in an educational setting.
About SASNA
There are approximately 225 schools who fall under the Independent and Catholic systems and only approximately 40 school nurses/ health professionals, many of whom job share. We are a committed group who meet twice a school term to network, problem-solve and maintain our continuous professional development. This is often achieved through the invitation of guest speakers and presenters to our meetings and via our email network.
The role of the school nurse is multifaceted and has changed dramatically over the past decade. SASNA offers a forum to connect school health professionals in South Australia to tackle these changes and challenges collectively as a team.
